Born in Brooklyn, NY, Katorah Kasanova Marrero, a.k.a. Young M.A, is a rapper and 5x platinum entertainer. She first gained recognition with the release of the quadruple-platinum single, āOOOuuu,ā breaking the top 20 Billboard Hot 100. The Rolling Stones described it as āeasily one of the most defining New York rap songs of the past 10 years.ā Aside from topping charts and breaking barriers for women in hip-hop, sheās opened doors by being completely authentic and transparent about her sexuality, allowing for more representation of queer peope where itās noticeaby lacking. Since her debut album, āHerstory,ā sheās also released āRed Fluā and āOff the Yak,ā which both came with critical acclaim. Young M.A is also the founder of KWEENZ Foundation, an organization helping residents of her East New York neighborhood whoāve suffered grief and trauma from the loss of a loved one.
